3. The annual Dog Show is on this Sunday. All the Guang Hua families should park in Lot #5 (ATC Parking Lot). Next Sunday, the annual Ride Ataxia will block access to the College from Morris Road. Please park your car at Lot #3 (201 Parking Lot) 

 

4.  The students from the 7th Grade and above will have the Chinese Cultural and History competition Students who participate this contest will receive a certificate from school.

 

5. Please encourage your child to write articles on “爱在我身边”或“说说你学习中文有趣的故事 to participate the writing competition by Qiao Bao. All the articles should email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or send to Principal Zhang Xianghong before Oct 15. Students who submitted his/her article to this writing contest will receive a certificate from School. It can be added in the 5 certificates to exchange an Excellent Student Trophy.

 

6. Mathcount and AMC Presentation is @ 2:00-3:30 at Room 344 by Kevin Wu and Kenny Yang

几乎每个家长都会提过“别人家的孩子”，那么各位家长将有一个零距离接触“别人家孩子”的机会，尤其你们对美国各类数学竞赛还不甚了解又有意触及的话！两位近年在各类各级数学竞赛中成绩出众的高中生Kevin Wu和Kenny Yang近期将在周边几个中文学校做关于数学竞赛准备的公益讲座，从他们的切身经历来介绍这些竞赛，着重在于Mathcounts和AMC，他们也热忱欢迎回答家长们的问题，大家不妨抽空去耳闻目睹一下别人家的孩子。同时他俩把这个讲座作为一个fundraising活动，希望参加者能捐献$2+，他们将所得全部款项平分捐赠给Chester County Mathcounts和主办的光华中文学校，希望能得到各位家长的鼎力支持！讲座时间是10/8（周日）2:00-3:30，在344教室。Kenny Yang, a sophomore in Great Valley high school and Kevin Wu,  Kevin Wu, a sophomore in Conestoga high schoo l, will give a presentation that mainly focus on Mathcounts and AMC which most Chinese heritage families are interested. Both Kevin and I have experienced quite some math competitions at various levels for years already and we got relatively outstanding outcomes among all the competitors, sort of qualified as match competition veterans. See the attached flyer about the planning presentation highlights as well as our profiles. They are confident the parents and students would love to hear some live experience from students point of view about the topic.

Kenny and Kevin would perform this presentation as voluntary community service. But meanwhile we prefer to do it as a fundraising event, our designated beneficial organizations would be our Chinese school and Chester County Mathcounts chapter, which split our collected fund from the seminar evenly.

 

7. Mandy Hu will come to our school and provide visa services to our families on Oct 8 at Room 317 from 2:00-4:00pm.

 

8. Philadelphia Chinese Opera Society will have its 2017 Peking Operation Spectacular on Saturday, @2pm Nov 11, 2017 at Upper Merion Area Middle School Auditorium. $10 per ticket for Guanghua Families. Only a few tickets left. Buying 2 tickets will receive 1 more for free.
