Chess Marshall, Gerald Gerald Marshall,Sr. Retired from the Commonwealth of Pa. with 33 yrs. Currently teaching chess for the School Districts of Pa. Referee basketball and soccer games. I'm rated with the USCF. I have over 35 yrs. of experience of playing/teaching chess skills to novice, intermediate and advance  players. This also includes teaching students chess notation and using the clock to play in USCF tournaments.  
Chinese Painting (>Ages 7) Wang, Grace Grace Wang was born in 2000 and currently is a Freshman at Upper Dublin High School.  Grace has shown love for art since she was small and started to learn Chinese painting at the age of four, first at Edison Huaxia Chinese School NJ. Grace  started teaching Chinese Painting at GH from 2015  
Computer Coding Yuan, Jennifer Working in Information Technology field for 17+ years. Guanghua Computer Club is to enrich and facilitate students project based learning on computer coding and graphic design and to serve as an innovative tech hub for the community.
Membership: Students who have taken Jennifer Yuan’s Computer Coding Class qualify to join. Other requests would go through case-by-case review process.

Continental Math League (Grade 3-6) Yan, Felicia Felicia Yan is a rising junior at North Penn High School. She began teaching this class last year. Felicia has consistantly placed first in the Contenental Math League (CML) competition at her school. In addition to CML, Felicia has also been an integral member of the MathCounts team thoughout middle school. Besides math, she also enjoys baking, playing tennis, photography and traveling. She is excited to be working with younger students and preparing them for questions that will appear on the CML.  Continental Math League (CML) is an intra-scholastic math competition geared towards students in elementary and middle school. The test is comprised of 6 word problems to be solved in a 30 minute period. Word problems encourage out-of-the-box thinking as well as reading comprehension. In this class, the focus is problems from the third grade to sixth grade problems. The development of these skills early on will benefit students in math competitions in middle and high school, as well as help them in regular math class as well. This class will use a combination of released questions from CML as well as Chinese math problems (translated into English) to cover all topics and provide reinforcement. Please provide a notebook and pencil, all other materials (textbook etc.) will be provided.
CML (G3-G6) Zhang, Stephanie Stephanie Zhang will be a senior at North Penn High School. She is actively involved in FBLA, Science Fair, Hawaii Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, piano competitions and has been involved in Jazz Ensemble, lacrosse, and theater. She has won awards in CML and earned 1st place in the region. She has placed 1st in the region and 5th place at states for Financial Math and Business Calculations and will be going to FBLA nationals to compete for the second time. This year, Stephanie led an economics team in the National Economics Challenge competition, winning the state championship and placing top 4 in the nation. She will compete in NYC for the national finals and was also selected to go to Germany for an economics camp. She graduated from GuangHua Chinese School in 2014 and regularly assists Chinese class (G2C) and dance class every Sunday as a teacher assistant. She has been dancing at Guanghua Chinese School for 10 years and has performed many times for the community every year. Stephanie is hardworking, organized, self-motivated and enjoys teaching and working with younger children. This math course is designed after the Continental Math League (CML) national math contest for students starting from grade 2. The CML test composes of six questions given in 30 minutes. Questions are given in word problem format, so students will learn valuable skills such as “out of the box thinking” and be able to problem solve and to comprehend. Furthermore, establishing these skills early on will also benefit students in further math competitions in middle school and high school. In this course, students will be taught the major concepts and topics and also be given practice sets to establish what they have just learned. The difficulty of concepts taught will be adjusted based on the math level of the students in the class. No textbook required; all learning materials will be provided.
Creative Drawing Liu, Connie Connie Liu is an upcoming junior who attends Upper Dublin High School and has taught at Guanghua for the past two years. She started learning the basics of drawing at age eight and started digitally drawing by age ten. She has won Gold Keys in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition for oil painting and digital art. She also won two Silver Keys for oil painting. Additionally, she has won best of show for her paintings and charcoal pieces in the Philadelphia Classical Society Latin Week competition. She has won first place for the United Nations World Food Day Poster Contest. Connie looks forward to helping students learn how to draw and observe life around them. Connie's class aims to help build up student’s basic observational skills and then have students apply those skills to developing their own creative ideas into art. The beginning of the year focuses on basic observational drawings (such as flowers and objects), animals, and the usage of colors and composition of scenes. Later on in the year, students will be exposed to a variety of creative drawing prompts as well as work with occasional mixed media projects. 
Debate Fundmentals Zhang, Jasmine

Jasmine Zhang will be a sophomore at Council Rock High School North. She is an active member in her school’s debate team, participating in Lincoln-Douglas and Big Questions Debate. As a freshman this past year competing against others grades 9-12, she has been highly successful in numerous tournaments, debating approximately 40 rounds. At the Pennsbury Falcon Invitational, a national circuit tournament attended by top schools along the eastern coast, Jasmine was 1st place in the JV Lincoln Douglas division. At both the Southeastern Pennsylvania Debate League Finals and the Valley Forge Districts NSDA Qualifier, she was a quarterfinalist in the open Lincoln Douglas division. Finally, at the Bucks County Big Questions Invitational, she and her partner placed 1st in the varsity division, and won the entire tournament in the final Showdown round. Jasmine is a part of the NSDA Honor Society, recently receiving the Degree of Excellence. She has had experience teaching middle school students about debate, and is looking forward to teaching this class!

This course seeks to teach students the fundamental aspects of debate. Whether students want to join their school debate team, learn how to argue in class, or just improve their overall refutation ability, this class will help students develop the skills needed to succeed. The course will cover how to construct an argument, how to refute, how to respond to rebuttals, and how to most effectively deliver a case. Students will also have the opportunity to practice debate drills to strengthen specific skills, and then put their skills to the test by participating in debates in class. This class is open to all students ages 10 and up. No prior experience is necessary.
Keyboard  Liu, Yuan Yuan Liu earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music and Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in China, and earned Master of Science degree in University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is continuously learning Opera Performance in US. She is good at not only piano performance but also vocal music and music theory.  She focuses on ABRSM Piano exams for years. Her students all got distinguished scores in the exams. One of her students got the highest score among all candidates of all instruments in DE PA and NJ area.

This course is based on the piano technics and music theory. With the hard work throughout the course, the students will gain the knowledge about pitch, rhythm, treble&bass staffs and basic piano playing skills, which will set up a solid foundation for future piano learning.

Tips:
— 4.5 year old and above is highly recommended.
— Parents’ participate in class is highly recommended.  
— Practicing at least 4 days per week is highly recommended.

Performing Art (Ages 5-6) Qi, Hong   This introductory to medium level dance class is designed for children of 5-6 years old. For each semester, a theme of basic ballet, contemporary dance and/or Chinese folk dance will be introduced according to the level of the students. Each class will compose of a warm-up routine, basic postures, and the theme dance. Students are expected to master skills of presenting group dance, and will have opportunities to perform in various local cultural events.
Performing Art (Ages 7-8) Yang, Jing Jing Yang is an experienced pharmaceutical professional with a hobby for Chinese dance since childhood. She is currently an active performer in a local Chinese Dance Troupe and a passionate teacher for Children's dance at Guanghua Chinese School. She believes that dance is an excellent avenue for exploring Chinese cultural root, gaining confidence and building characters for our children. Children of 7-8 year old are currently enrolled in this introductory dance class. For each semester, a theme of basic ballet, contemporary dance or Chinese folk dance will be selected according to the level of the children.  We’ll start with a warm up routine to improve coordination and develop basic dancing positions according to the theme.  As the class progress, we’ll work toward a group performance that will further engage the children.  At the end of the semester, the parents are invited to enjoy the performance and cheer for their proud little dancers.

Public Speech & Debate Zhao, Raymond

I was an Instructor at Boy Scouts for four years, and I have taken Speech and Debate class at school. I go to debating camps for summers, and am currently the president of toastmasters for two years now.

The majority of the class is clearly going to give speeches. I teach by the E.D.G.E method, a method we use in Boy scouts. I have used this countless times and it works very well. E.D.G.E stands for: Educate, Demonstrate, Guide, Enable.  I will use power points to explain, and do interactive activities to ensure that the students shall not be bored.
SAT Math >Grade 7 Hu, Eric Eric Hu is a junior at Upper Dublin High School who has a passion for math.  He has scored 800 in SAT Math and SAT Math Level II and 5 for AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC.  Eric is a self-driven learner who taught himself AP Statistics with a score of 5 and enjoys solving challenging problems via participating in numerous math competitions.  Among Eric’s notable accomplishments are USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO) qualifier from American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) 12, squad leader of Lehigh Valley American Regions Mathematics League (ARML), gold medalist of USA Mathematical Talent Search (USAMTS) and participant of Princeton University Mathematics Competition (PUMaC).  At his leisure time, Eric loves ants, Rubik’s cube and Icelandic.  
Tennis Wang, Ethan Ethan Wang is a rising junior at Central Bucks High School South, where he garnered experience in competitve tennis as the varsity third singles player his sophomore year. A student himself for six years--at both the Philadelphia Sports Club and Doylestown Tennis Club--Ethan has developed extensive knowledge on the fundamentals of basic shots and technique needed to succeed as a beginner. Over the years, he has particpated in junior tournaments and competitive league play at his tennis clubs.  This class will allow young players to develop the basic tennis shots of forehand and backhand groundstrokes. Players will learn the ability to recognize and hit these shots through drills that will emphasize correct basic shot motion, movement, and follow through. Students will improve hand-eye coordination, perform raquet-handling skills, and be active on the court. Eventually, they will experience hitting back-and-forth shots with their peers using Quickstart balls for ten and under. Every lesson, the kids will throughly enjoy engaging games that utilize what they have learned.
     
Soccer (Ages 8 & under) Wang, Billy Billy Wang has been playing soccer for about 7 years now. He used to play on the Montgomery travel soccer team for 5 years but now only plays for his high school soccer team. He is in 10th grade and has already been the class assistant for the past year. Billy's soccer class will offer young players a good opportunity for both girls and boys to strengthen their soccer skills and learn new aspects and techniques of the game. We will review basic skills and then immediately dive into small-sided games. By the end of the year, students will be proficient in their skills and as well as their competetiveness to win.
Wei Qi Zheng, Jianqing Have been WeiQi teacher for few years at GuanHua; Level:2D (Beijing); member of American Go Association Let's students get interested first. Teach basic skills for beginer students. For higher level of students teach stratege, caculations and territory estimate
Tennis Feng, Timothy Timothy has been playing tennis for 4 years, played singles for 2 years in middle school, and played USTA tennis. He is in high school now (10th grade).  In the Summer time of the past 3 years, he was a consular at VBS。  
Tennis (Beginners) Zhong, Tiffany Tiffany Zhong is a rising 10th grader at Germantown Academy. She has been playing tennis and regularly trained at Frog Hollow Tennis Club and Upper Dublin Sports Center for 9 years. She played First Singles for two years on the Middle School Varsity team and Third Singles as a freshman on the High School Varsity team at Germantown Academy. She competes at tournaments in Philadelphia District and Middle State Section. She is currently ranked #17 in Pennsylvania State in her age group, according to tennis recruiting network http://www.tennisrecruiting.net/player.asp?id=855425. She has worked as a tennis teaching assistant at Guang Hua Chinese School last year so has gained extensive teaching experience. Tiffany's tennis class will offer young players a great opportunity to review and strengthen the basics of tennis and also improve their game. In her class, students will learn the fundamentals of tennis, improve hand-eye coordination and quick reactions to the tennis ball, practice the simple forehand and backhand ground strokes and how to hit the shots correctly. In every class students will start with some running and dynamic stretches to avoid injury, and then will do some drills to practice hitting the ball with good form. Finally students will implement the shots through some fun and engaging games on the courts, which makes tennis very enjoyable for all students. As the class progresses, if students successfully learn the forehand and backhand shots, other techniques, e.g., volleys, overheads, and serves will be taught to allow students to continue expanding their games.

Tennis Adv She, Franklin Franklin She is a upcoming sophomore at Upper Dublin High School. In school tennis, he has had experience in both singles and doubles positions on varsity teams in middle and high school. Beyond his regular training at Frog Hollow Tennis Club, he has trained with national level players and coaches at both Randy Pate Tennis Academy and Van Der Meer Tennis Academy in South Carolina. Along with intense training, he has competed in USTA district and sectional tournaments throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has achieved a ranking of 12 in the Philadelphia District 14s age group and a ranking of 140 in the Middle States Section 16s age group and will continue competitive tennis. This class will focus on reviewing basic shot mechanics, as well as more advanced footwork and swing techniques. Players will learn how to implement different types of spin in ground strokes and serves, and how to use topspin and slice effectively. He will also teach singles and doubles strategy, as well as shot selection and point structure. During class, players will warm up and do a consistency drill, aiming to get a higher score each week. Players also will play games and drills with the focus of playing out points and learning new strategies.

Volleyball Wang, Michael Michael Wang is sophomore from North Penn High School.  He has been playing volleyball for over 8 years.   He joined North Penn high school's volleyball team in middle school.  Now he is a captain of the Junior varsity team and his team has won all of their games this season. He also plays on the varsity team of the school.  This Volleyball class will be an exciting combination of developmental instruction of basic skills and fun teaching.  Students will learn fundamental skills such as passing, setting, serving and spiking, and also play non-competitive “mini” games.
Vocal Lesson 1 Huang, Siyu Siyu Huang graduated from Xi'an Consevatory of Music and taught voice at Teachers Department there afterwards. She also studied with Zhilan Gao, the renowned vocalist and the professor at Shanghai  Consevatory of Music. Siyu came to US to ontinue  her education and studied with professor Christine Andersonwith professor Christine Anderson at TempleUniversity's Boyer College of Music, and obtained her Master's Degree of vocal performance. She serves Chinese community  as a soloist in Philadelphia metropolitan area. In 2008, she established  "Siyu Huang  Vocal Studio" and taught voice since. This is her 2nd year taught in Guang Gua. Lessons would address the following areas: .physical awareness: to develop confidence,mental focus and stage presence
.Voice training:  to improve breath control, tone quality, range of pitch and volume, diction and articulation through daily warm-up
and vocal exercises with additional emphasis onvocal health care
.Repertoire: to introduce selected music interesting and suitable for broadening students’ skills
. Music Literacy: to practice sight reading,solfege and stylish of the songs.
.Students will have the opportunity to perform on stage at Chinese Festivals. 
Writing Class Guo, Aiden I am capable for this position for many reasons. Not only do I constantly update a blog, I’ve published a book as well as written many stories. I am one of the top writers in my grade, and likely the most frequent writer. Since a young age, I have always read an abundance of books, which influenced my writing today greatly. I hope to pass on my skill set to others as well.
