    Guanghua Summer Program open house will be held at auditorium of Parkhouse Hall on Feb 3rd .

    •   Guanghua Summer Program - SAT Prep Course

        The SAT Prep course aims to the students who would like to get familiar with SAT test and will take the test for the requirement of some selective summer programs, like CTY in John Hopkins. This group of students is usually ranged from 6th grade - 9th grades. The goal for this prep course is to let students get familiar with SAT test format and type of problems. This course also can give students an opportunity to learn/review basic concepts for their use in their school academy work. In order to have flexibility of available time, two sessions are offered. Both sessions have the same contents. Welcome to join one of them. 

    Session I June 17 – June 28

    Session II Aug 5 – Aug 16

    Spring Semester will kick in from Feb 03rd/2019. Class registration, withdrawal for the 2nd  semester can be applied online now. Requested refund will be processed starting from Feb 17th(3rd week of the 2nd semester).

  

    A.  Starting from 3rd Feb 2019, CES1A will take class at classroom #328; G8A will take class at classroom #317. 请相关同学和家长注意。自2月3日起，G8A班的教室换到#317教室；CES1A的教室换到#328教室。请相互转告;

    B. For Arts (Sketch) class, 4:00-4:50pm(Classroom #333), Mrs. Dan Yang can't come back to US to continue teaching at our school, due to personal reason. Miss Joanna Zhen will replace her and be the Art teacher of Sketch class. 素描班杨聃老师因故会在国内停留一段时间无法按时返回美国，因此她辞去了光华下学期的所有任教工作。经研究决定由Joanna Zhen/郑老师接替素描班的教学工作.

    C. For Arts (Chinese Painting) class by Mrs. Dan Yang, this class will be cancelled. Students can either join the existing Creative Arts (4:00-4:50pm); Creative Arts (Beginner, 1:00-1:50pm) or Creative Painting(Adult 2-2:50pm) by Mr. Chenglin Cai, or select refund option. 

由于杨聃老师因故会在国内停留一段时间无法按时返回美国，因此她辞去了光华下学期的所有任教工作。经研究决定国画班学生可以选择合并在蔡陈林老师的班级，也可以选择退$100学费.蔡老师是很优秀的青年艺术家，现在中文学校教授Creative Arts (4-4:50)，Creative Arts (Beginner,1-1:50pm)，以及Creative Painting (成人班, 2-2:50pm)。请联系我们告知您的决定。谢谢大家的理解和支持！

    今年中文SAT模拟考试报名截止日期为2月4日，模拟考试日期3月3日中午12:00。拟报考的同学，请向本班中文老师报名，中文老师会将名单上交学校，由学校统一向主办单位报名。光华负责所有费用。但如果报名的学生因任何原因不能参考，学校将追收报名费用。

    A. 2月2日/星期六上午十点，红楼讲座与过年有关：《红楼梦》第53和54回用大段笔墨描写了四大家族之一贾府非常热闹的场面，把“诗礼簪缨之族，钟鸣鼎食之家”的贾府男女老少过年的细节写的活灵活现，有兴趣者，请按时参加。不需注册，免费讲座。捐赠欢迎$5.

    B. Feb 9th/Saturday 1-4pm. “China Day” at the Cultural Center

        To celebrating the Chinese New Year of the Pig, we welcome you and your family to the Cultural Center: we would like to show you how the Chinese people decorate their houses during the Spring Festivals; we will also invite you to experience Chinese folklore and customs: write the Chinese character “福”(happiness), “春” (spring), painting the door gods, making lanterns and window paper-cutting, tasting Chinese snacks and learning how to make dumplings. We will also prepare some Chinese New Year trivia quizzes. We encourage you to bring your neighbors especially American families to join us. This would be a good opportunity to let the children fully understand the traditional customs of the Chinese New Year. Before the activities starts, there will be a dragon dance, Chinese folk dance and some performance. Free for everyone.

亥时春入户，猪岁喜盈门！大费城华人文化中心将于周六2月9日下午1:00-4:00pm举办“中国节”的庆祝活动，让每个参加者体验民俗，组织孩子们写福字、画门神、画脸谱、做花灯、剪纸，包饺子，品尝小吃，发红包等多种活动，让孩子们在异国他乡也能和国内的孩子们一样过春节，让小朋友们充分了解传统习俗。 活动开始之前，有舞龙，扭秧歌等节目表扬。请邀请邻里的美国朋友一起来参加。
