 1. New classes and teachers:

1)Photography 101 by Joshua Cheng on Tuesday night, 7:00pm-9:00pm at GPCCC

Photography 101 is the perfect all-in-one class for anyone who wants to jump into the world of photography. This course provides practical instruction in the fundamentals of digital SLR format camera operation. You will make the transition from fully automatic to fully manual shooting: this includes the fundamentals of cameral-use and optimize lenses, exposer, and focus to expand your creative potential.

We will also discuss the work of great photographers alongside your own photographs in order to better understand the fundamentals of composition and lighting to create compelling imagery. Like a great storyteller, you will develop a keen sense of eye that express your photographic storytelling.

About instructor: 

Joshua Cheng grew up in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. After obtaining BRE in Religious Education, he went on to pursue an MDiv at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary. He has done additional studies at Yale University and University of Pennsylvania.

Photography is one of his many passions in life. He’s been shooting since the age of 16. As an amateur photographer, he focuses on portrait and travel photography. Joshua’s unique blend of illustrations, photographs and group discussions make learning photography engaging and fun.

2) Aerobic Fitness by Susan Cong @2:00 pm

丛姝娟（Susan 丛）喜欢健身运动已有多年，在光华中文学校参加过Zumba ，Yoga 等课程训练，同时也坚持去GPCC（Gtester Plymouth Community Center)做运动多年，现在想义务为光华中文学校做点力所能及的事情，同时也想和喜欢运动的朋友们一起切磋交流，分享运动带来的快乐。

课程安排是：运动前的伸展拉筋热身，然后针对小腹，腰部及臀部做些健身操，最后以简单的垫上运动结束。温馨提示：请带Yoga Mat。

2. GHCS Summer Camp information meeting this Sunday May 20 at office 345 @2:10. Agenda:

3. Purchasing textbooks for the 2018-2019 school year:

It is time to order the new textbooks for next school year.

1)    For 《马立平教材》：MaLipingTextbook

-      For new Kindergarten students (学 前班), the orders will be handled by the school.

-      For classes that have more than 5 students, the textbook orders should be handled by their parent representative. Order site:  http://mlpchinese.com.

-      For classes that have less than 5 students, please let Weiqin Luan know ASAP.

2)    Lang Lang《朗朗中文》

-      The school will place its orders for these classes. Please let school know how many books and which volume you need.

3)    《美洲华语》MeiZhouHuaYu

-      Teacher and parent representative are responsible to purchase the  textbooks for students. Order site: http://www.mzchinese.org.

-      For classes that have less than 5 students, please let school know and school will order the textbooks for you

4)    《暨南中文》ZhongWen

-      The Zhong Wen《暨南中文》will be  handled by the class itself. Order site:  http://www.shop.asiancc.net.

4. URGENT!!! If you haven’t submitted your child’s certificates, this Sunday (1-4:30) will be the last chance. Don’t miss it. The last day for collecting certificates to exchanging trophies. Please submit the certificates with students English name and Chinese name, Class and phone numbers.

5. School appreciates all of our teacher assistants (TA) for their hard work and help. As a small token, each TA should receive a gift card from our school as our appreciation. Please come to the school office #345 to pick up the gift card and certificates. Thanks.

6. GPCCC’s Activities:

  • 护肤和美妆：5/18 Friday night 7：00-9：00 Cultural Center。美女们有福了，来自香港的美妆顾问将于5月18日晚来中心为大家讲解化妆技巧和护肤常识。Annie Lee——10年美容化妆经验；曾在香港的法国叶露芝当美容师和美容顾问；曾在纤体中心当顾问；在大型连锁店当美容顾问（销售护肤品，化妆品，名牌香水，训练新人，解答客人疑难等）；来美11年，在美期间，曾做过一些新娘化妆的工作。本次授课内容有：1. 讲解如何护肤和日常化妆；2. 介绍护肤品，化妆品；3. 临场演示化妆。有兴趣者，请sign up： https://goo.gl/forms/yREC9VWmFxjsGUbF3。
  • Cooking seminar: 5/19 Saturday night @7:00大费城文化中心再次请到做饭能手徐格老师来教我们发面，包包子，做花卷，并且演示做生煎包，欢迎美食爱好者报名参加。时间:5月19日晚7点，地点：文化中心（905 Lenmar Dr, Blue Bell) 欢迎大家踊跃报名
